Despite the plethora of messaging apps out there, email is still relevant, especially in business. Furthermore, there are various software applications that make this means of communication easier and more convenient. An excellent example is Mailspring, which gives you the possibility of managing your mailboxes on the fly. Even if you receive a heap of mail every day, you will be able to find specific messages instantly, prioritize them and prepare responses without any effort.

Mailspring comes in free and paid editions, for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. Downloading its installation package shouldn't take too long, even with a modest Internet connection. The setup process involves a few simple instructions, after which you can start using the software right away. You don't have to meet any special requirements, and you don't need powerful hardware to run it.

When launched for the first time, the software will help you connect to your mailbox. If you have more than one, you can add them later in the general settings menu. The best part is that Mailspring, like most modern email clients, makes all the necessary settings automatically, so you don't have to fiddle with any IMAP settings. You only need to select a mail service, provide your login credentials and the software will do the rest.

Mailspring doesn't bring anything new to the table when it comes to how it presents your emails on your user interface, but it does bring some useful and interesting functions you can use. For example, you can hit a Snooze button on individual messages if you want to deal with them later. Once you click the Snooze button, a menu will instantly pop up, with options for postponing the selected message for one or more hours, for the next day, week or month. What's more, you can also type a specific time, like "next Thursday ".

The software's advantages don't stop at pressing a Snooze button. You can find a wide range of useful tools when composing emails, for sending them automatically at a specified time, translating the text, applying templates and tracking the message, so you may see if the recipient has opened the email or not. Also, you can set Mailspring to display reminders if a message hasn't been opened for a set amount of time, so you won't run into any problems due to a business partner or co-worker not receiving a memo or document.

If you are looking for an email from long ago, you can make use of the software's smart search capabilities to find it. Simply type the subject, the sender's name or specify when you've received the mail, with modifiers like "since last month" or "in folder X", and the software will find what you're looking for. Another important aspect is the fact that Mailspring automatically creates a profile for all your contacts. When you select an email, your partner's information will appear on the right side of the main user interface, along with links to their social media pages, so you will always know who you're dealing with.

Taking its flexibility and easy to comprehend functionality into account, you can certainly say that Mailspring lets you enjoy email at a whole new level.

Pros

The software indexes your emails and helps you find specific messages instantly. It lets set up delays when sending messages. You can also see if the messages you send are opened or not.

Cons

You may encounter a few complications if you want to link Mailspring to a Yahoo account.
